ITAM_App__Asset_Type__c

The Asset Type object represents a specific category or classification of IT assets within the organization, such as “Laptop”, “Smartphone”, “Software License”, or “Desktop”. Each record defines a unique type of asset, which helps categorize and organize assets for efficient tracking and management.

The Description field provides additional context about the asset type, helping to clarify its purpose, usage, and any specific policies or requirements related to it.

Additionally, the Asset Type object includes a Default Property Bundle component on the record page. This feature allows users to select default properties for each asset type and create new properties. These properties will be automatically added to the Asset Unit in the Properties component, ensuring that all relevant attributes are consistently applied to each asset unit of that type.

This functionality supports standardized asset management by ensuring that all asset units of a given type inherit the appropriate set of properties, streamlining asset configuration and tracking.
