Once you have successfully installed ITAM App
Upgrading an existing installation
Install the new version over the existing one with the same installation link; your data is kept.
From the first-generation package: if your org still runs a 1GP version of ITAM App, upgrade to version 1.12.0 first, then to 1.12.0.1, and only then to a later version.
After upgrading to 1.13 (Winter 2027): Salesforce never changes page layouts, list views or reports that are already in your org, so new fields have to be added by hand. New installations already include them.
- Disposal page layout: add Disposal date and Previous asset status. Without them a disposal cannot be corrected (see Disposal).
- Disposal “All” list view: add the Disposal date column.
- (Optional) Disposal reasons report in the Dashboard reports folder: change the date filter from Created Date to Disposal date.
During the upgrade, disposals created before version 1.13 get their creation date as their Disposal date. Check them and correct any that were disposed on a different day.

- In the Permission Set Assignments related list, click Edit Assignments.
- To assign a permission set, select Permission Set under Available Permission Sets and click Add. To remove a permission set assignment, select it under Enabled Permission Sets and click Remove.

Assign a Permission Set to Multiple Users
Assign a permission set to one or more users from any permission set page.
- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Permission Sets, and then click Permission Sets.
- Select the Permission Set.
- Click Manage Assignments and then Add Assignments.
- Select the checkboxes next to the names of the users you want assigned to the permission set, and click Next.
- Click Assign.
Messages confirm success or indicate if a user doesn’t have the appropriate licenses for assignment.
Load the default data
A new org starts with no asset types, properties, departments, categories or disposal reasons, and every Asset Unit needs an Asset Type. Rather than building that model by hand, open Settings and use the Default Data section to load a ready-made catalog of asset types and their properties.
See Load default data for the full procedure.
Map Asset Transfer and Asset Request statuses.
To enhance efficiency and ensure data consistency during the asset fulfillment process, the system provides a capability to link the statuses of Asset Requests with the statuses of related Asset Transfers.
Once configured, this feature enables the automatic updating of an Asset Request’s status based on progress updates recorded on the associated Asset Transfer record.
This minimizes manual intervention and provides a clearer view of the end-to-end request lifecycle.
- Open ITAM App Settings
- Configure mapping
